What is deprec8?

deprec8 is a web application that monitors upcoming software library, SDK, and cloud service deprecations. It collects information from official sources and presents it in a unified dashboard so you can see which deprecations affect your codebase.

Is deprec8 free?

Yes, deprec8 offers a free tier that includes personal project tracking and full access to the deprecation database. Paid plans add additional projects, team features, and higher API limits.

How does deprec8 find deprecation information?

deprec8 uses an intelligent multi-tier scraping system that monitors official documentation pages, release blogs, changelogs, RSS feeds, and APIs from technology vendors. The system runs on automated schedules to keep data current.

Projects and Dependencies

How many projects can I create?

It depends on your pricing tier. Free accounts get 1 personal project, Basic gets 10, and Professional gets unlimited. See the pricing page for details.

Which manifest file formats are supported?

deprec8 supports package.json, pyproject.toml, requirements.txt, Gemfile, go.mod, pom.xml, and build.gradle. See Manifest Upload for the full list.

What happens if my dependency isn't in the database?

If a dependency isn't found, it means deprec8 doesn't yet have deprecation data for that component. The database is continuously expanding as new sources are added.

Account and Security

How do I change my email or password?

Visit the Settings page to update your account details.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Contact support@deprec8.io to request account deletion. All your data will be permanently removed.

Organizations

Can I belong to multiple organizations?

Yes. You can be a member of multiple organizations and switch between them using the organization switcher in the navigation bar.

How do I transfer organization ownership?

The current owner can transfer ownership to any admin member from the organization settings page.
